Volksfest Tradition at Pentecost
The Neumarkter Volksfest is one of the established events in the festival calendar of the town of Neumarkt-Sankt Veit in the Lower Bavarian district of Mühldorf am Inn. Every year, it begins on the Friday before Pentecost and extends over about nine to ten days – a reliable highlight in the region's early summer.
The Traditional Procession
The folk festival opens with a festive procession that starts from the Herzogliches Kasten and proceeds across the town square to the festival grounds. This custom connects the modern festival events with the town's history and prepares visitors and associations for the coming festival days.
Festival Tent, Rides, and Delicacies
The centerpiece is the large festival tent with brass band music, Bavarian delicacies (Schmankerl), and a convivial atmosphere. On the festival grounds, numerous rides, candy stalls, and lottery booths offer variety. The festival appeals equally to families, young people, and older guests.

The Neumarkter Volksfest 2026 invites you to the festival grounds in Neumarkt-Sankt Veit from May 22 to 31. As every year, the festival begins on the Friday before Pentecost with the festive procession, which leads from the Herzogliches Kasten across the town square to the festival area. Getting There
The festival grounds are located at Johannesstraße 20 in Neumarkt-Sankt Veit (Mühldorf am Inn district). Arrive by car via the B 299. The Neumarkt-Sankt Veit train station is on the Mühldorf–Landshut line, from where it is within walking distance.

Admission to the festival grounds is free. Costs apply for rides, food, and drinks.
