Chamber Music in the Audi City

Neckarsulm is the second-largest town in the Heilbronn district and the headquarters of Audi. In addition to industrial and automotive themes, the city cultivates a cultural identity that is evident in its annual chamber music days: a concentrated festival of five concerts in early February that brings international top artists into direct concert contact with the audience. In 2026, the series runs from Sunday, February 1st, to Saturday, February 7th.

2026 Programme — Five Concerts, Five Thematic Titles

The series opens on Sunday, February 1st, 2026, at 6:00 PM with the recital "Poetica" — cellist Claudio Bohórquez and pianist Péter Nagy performing works by Schumann. This is followed by three chamber concerts on February 3rd, 4th, and 7th, each at 6:30 PM: "Lament & Passion," "Lyricism & Love," and "Swan Song." On Friday, February 6th, the special concert "Sturm & Drang" takes place in the German Bicycle and NSU Museum — an atypical acoustic setting that adds extra appeal to the series.

World-Class Soloists

The ensemble brings together international stars: Daishin Kashimoto, 1st concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic, is considered one of the most important violinists of his generation. Claudio Bohórquez (cello), an Echo Klassik award winner, and his brother Oscar Bohórquez (violin) are shaping the chamber music scene in Berlin and Europe. Paul Meyer (clarinet), a world-renowned French clarinetist, and Eric Le Sage (piano), one of the leading Mozart and Schumann interpreters, complete the ensemble. Pianist Péter Nagy rounds out the top lineup.

Two Special Venues

The main venue is the Josef-Lindemann-Saal of the Neckarsulm Municipal Music School — an acoustically high-quality concert hall on Marktstraße. The special concert "Sturm & Drang" on February 6th will be held in the German Bicycle and NSU Museum — an extraordinary setting amidst historic motorcycles and an industrial history atmosphere, which is rare in the chamber music landscape of Baden-Württemberg.

Neckarsulm in the Heilbronn District

Neckarsulm, with just under 27,000 inhabitants, is located in the Heilbronn district at the confluence of the Neckar and Sulm rivers. The city is now known worldwide as the headquarters of Audi (with the Neckarsulm production site) — the German Bicycle and NSU Museum commemorates the motorcycle history tradition that shaped NSU before its takeover by Audi. In the state of Baden-Württemberg, the Neckarsulm Chamber Music Days are one of the few festivals of this size and density of top artists outside the major university cities — a hallmark of sophisticated urban cultural work.

Chamber Music Days Neckarsulm — edition 2026

The 2026 Neckarsulm Chamber Music Days offer five concerts between February 1st and 7th, 2026. Opening with "Poetica" (Claudio Bohórquez, cello / Péter Nagy, piano), three chamber concerts "Lament & Passion," "Lyricism & Love," "Swan Song" in the Josef-Lindemann-Saal, as well as the special concert "Sturm & Drang" in the German Bicycle and NSU Museum. Soloists include Daishin Kashimoto (1st concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic), Oscar Bohórquez, Paul Meyer, Eric Le Sage.

2026 Programme

The city of Neckarsulm and its Municipal Music School are organizing the series in February 2026 as a regular fixture for classical music enthusiasts in southwestern Germany. Five concerts guide the audience through a dramaturgically cohesive theme: a poetic opening, lament, lyricism, a special afternoon in the NSU Museum, and the swan song as a calm conclusion.

Top international soloists make the series acoustically and musically one of the most remarkable chamber music festivals outside the major German university cities. The performance setting in the high-quality Josef-Lindemann-Saal, as well as the special concert "Sturm & Drang" in the NSU Museum, give the concerts additional character.
