45th Edition — Autumn Festival of Neckarsulm Clubs at Schlossplatz
In 2026, the Ganzhornfest will mark its 45th edition. The organizer is the Cultural and Sports Committee of the Neckarsulm Clubs, a cooperation of all sports, cultural, and social clubs in the city. Unlike commercial folk festivals, the entire proceeds benefit the participating clubs — the Ganzhornfest is one of the most important sources of funding for Neckarsulm's club life.
The venue is the Schlossplatz around the Deutschordensschloss, complemented by Karlsplatz and the surrounding streets. Over 30 clubs set up pavilions — a culinary and cultural journey through Neckarsulm's club life: Swabian Schupfnudeln, Baden Maultaschen, Italian flatbread equivalent, Syrian specialties (hummus, falafel, Maqluba), Turkish kebab, pizza, vegetarian-vegan options. Plus beer, Hohenlohe wines, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks.
In 2026, the Ganzhornfest will play a special role: the traditional Neckarsulm Stadtfest will be discontinued from 2026 onwards — a consequence of shrinking inner-city footfall and rising organizational costs. This makes the Ganzhornfest the city's only major autumn highlight. Furthermore, the 2026 edition marks the last one before the major redesign of the Schlossplatz, which begins immediately after the festival. The clubs promise a special festival — the conclusion of the Schlossplatz in its current form.
Neckarsulm is located at the confluence of the Neckar and Sulm rivers in the Heilbronn district. The city is primarily known as the headquarters of Audi (40,000 employees) and the Lidl headquarters. The Deutschordensschloss in the old town is a reminder of the time when Neckarsulm belonged to the Teutonic Order. Neckarsulm is directly accessible from Heilbronn and Heidelberg via the S-Bahn lines S 41/S 42.
The 2026 Ganzhornfest holds a dual special status: its 45th edition and, simultaneously, the last one at the Schlossplatz before the major redesign that begins immediately after the festival. The clubs promise a special celebration.
