Nassauer Adventsmarkt

Nassau an der Lahn, the birthplace of the famous reformer Heinrich Friedrich Karl Reichsfreiherr vom Stein, has a special character in Advent. The historic town center with half-timbered houses, the town hall, the castle courtyard, and the cultural center offers a backdrop that could hardly be more impressive.

The Nassauer Adventsmarkt consistently utilizes this diversity of locations. Instead of concentrating on a single square, it is spread across four central stations:

• Market Square: the classic center with the majority of stalls, stage, and main events
• Castle Courtyard: atmospheric corner with a special ambiance, smaller offerings, and intimate mood
• Town Hall: indoor area with exhibitions, smaller concerts, often also children's programs
• Cultural Center: additional offerings, often also craft workshops or readings

The market offers the classic Advent mix: craft stalls with nativity figures, jewelry, woodwork, wool products, candles, pottery. Culinary delights with mulled wine, punch, bratwurst, potato pancakes, crêpes, regional specialties.

The Advent program includes performances by brass choirs, school and community choirs, a visit from St. Nicholas, readings, and smaller concerts. The exact dates will be communicated by the town of Nassau in advance.

With a duration of three days and spread across multiple venues, the Nassauer Adventsmarkt is one of the most attractive Advent excursion destinations in western Rhineland-Palatinate – not too big, not too small, with a high flair factor.
