Nachkerwe 2026 in Enkenbach – traditional post-celebration of the Kuckuckskerwe on the 2nd Sunday in October in the Enkenbach-Alsenborn municipality.
The Nachkerwe Enkenbach is the traditional post-celebration of the Kuckuckskerwe – the big summer festival that the Enkenbach district in the Enkenbach-Alsenborn municipality celebrates annually on the 2nd Sunday in July. The Nachkerwe on October 11, 2026 (2nd Sunday in October) picks up this tradition again in early autumn and concludes the Kerwe year in Enkenbach.
The Kuckuckskerwe in July is the big main festival of the Enkenbach district: three days long, with an open-air concert (in previous years with the Palatinate band Fused), barrel tapping, ecumenical tent service, Kerweredd (Kerwe speech) at 3 p.m., and a colorful parade. The Nachkerwe in October complements this main festival with a smaller, one-day format, primarily aimed at regular guests and the village community.
Nachkerwen (post-celebrations) are not uncommon in the Palatinate: Many communities that celebrate their main Kerwe in spring or summer hold a Nachkerwe in autumn – as a reminder, an extension of the festive feeling, or a cozy counterpart to the often turbulent main festival. In Enkenbach, the Nachkerwe has established itself as a fixed date in October.
The Nachkerwe program is deliberately leaner than that of the main Kerwe: Frühschoppen on Sunday morning with brass music, Palatinate lunch from the club kitchen, coffee and cake in the afternoon, a small family program, and a cozy conclusion. Some years, a small parade or a Kerwerede is added.
The Nachkerwe is more familial and quieter than the big summer Kerwe. It is a meeting point for the village community, former Enkenbach residents, hiking groups, and regular guests who appreciate the early autumn Palatinate charm. The organizer is the Karneval-Verein Enkenbach (KVK) with the local clubs.
The Nachkerwe Enkenbach 2026 continues the annual tradition. On the 2nd Sunday in October, it concludes the Kerwe year in Enkenbach in a relaxed atmosphere.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in late summer. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
