Summer Concerts in the Landscape Park
The "Musical Picnic in the Park" is a summer concert series by the town of Putbus in the south of the island of Rügen. The venue is the Putbus Castle Park, the expansive landscape park of the classicist residential town – more precisely, the lawns at the Schlossterrassen (Castle Terraces), which offer plenty of space for a relaxed stay.
Every Monday from June to August
The series runs throughout the summer: from June to August, a concert takes place every Monday afternoon. The performances begin at 5:30 PM and last around two hours. A total of 13 dates are planned over the season – with a wide musical spectrum from classical to jazz, folk, French chanson, and country, performed mainly by regional artists.
Picnic Instead of Concert Hall
The concept is deliberately relaxed: guests bring blankets and picnic baskets and make themselves comfortable on the lawns. Admission is free. In case of rain, the concert will be cancelled. This makes the "Musical Picnic" a low-threshold summer offer for locals and holiday guests alike – music in the green without formality.
Putbus, Rügen, and the Summer Program
Putbus is located in the Vorpommern-Rügen district. The Schlosspark is the green heart of the white residential town and shapes the cityscape of Putbus as well as the event life. In addition, the spa administration also hosts live music on the festival meadow at the nearby Lauterbach harbor on Fridays. Together, these events make the Putbus summer a season with almost daily concert opportunities.

In 2026, the Musical Picnic in the Park runs from June to August, every Monday afternoon. The concerts start at 5:30 PM on the terraces of the Schlosspark and last about two hours.
For the 2026 season, 13 dates are planned. The musical spectrum is broad: jazz, folk, Ostrock, French chanson, and Nordic-Celtic music alternate, performed mainly by regional artists. Guests bring blankets and picnic baskets; admission is free. In case of rain, the respective concert will be cancelled.

Getting There
Train: via Bergen auf Rügen, then continue with a regional train or the "Rasender Roland" narrow-gauge railway to Putbus. Car: via the B96 and the Rügendamm. The Schlosspark is centrally located in Putbus.

On Site
Bring a picnic blanket or folding chair and a picnic basket. Concert starts at 5:30 PM at the Schlossterrassen.
