About Münchberger Wiesenfest
Münchberger Wiesenfest — edition 2026
The city of Münchberg, the regional city portal 100prozenthof.de, and Frankenradar confirm the dates July 10–13, 2026, at the Münchberg Schützenplatz. This maintains the Wiesenfest's traditional timing on the weekend of the second Saturday in July.
The program follows the proven choreography: opening evening with beer tapping on Friday, parade of clubs on Saturday, full festival Saturday and Sunday with daily top bands in the tent, and the festival winding down on Monday. The outdoor area features atmospheric lighting for a beer garden ambiance, and families can choose between rides from new operators (often fresh from the Oktoberfest) and classic stalls. Bands and detailed daily schedules will be published on wiesenfest.mueb (Instagram), Facebook, and muenchberg.de in the weeks leading up to the festival.

The Great Hofer Land Volksfest
With around 30,000 visitors per year, the Münchberger Wiesenfest is the largest Volksfest in the Hof district and one of the most important festival dates in Upper Franconia in July. The organizers are the City of Münchberg together with the FC Eintracht Münchberg (as the festival host) and the Scherdel Brewery Hof, one of the traditional breweries of the Hofer Land region.
Format and Venue
The venue is the Schützenplatz in Münchberg – the town's designated event area. The following are set up:
- a large festival tent with top bands performing daily
- an atmospherically lit outdoor area (beer garden)
- a range of rides, often new on the market directly after the Munich Oktoberfest
- classic fairground attractions (carousels, stalls, candy floss stands, Ferris wheel)
Parade of Clubs
The parade of clubs on Wiesenfest Saturday is the highlight of the weekend: clubs, traditional costume groups, music bands, and floats parade from the town center to the Schützenplatz, ensuring that the Wiesenfest is truly celebrated by "all of Münchberg" – a self-image formulated in the town's slogan "most attractive family Volksfest between Bayreuth and Hof".
Specially Brewed Wiesenfest Beer
A special feature is the Wiesenfest beer from the Scherdel Brewery Hof, which is brewed especially for the Münchberger Wiesenfest – a hybrid of Festbier and Märzen. This places Münchberg in the tradition of Upper Franconian Volksfests, where each Volksfest has its own festival beer.
Münchberg – Bavaria's Textile City
With over 10,000 inhabitants, Münchberg is one of the largest and oldest towns in the Hof district and is known as "Bavaria's Textile City" due to its historically strong textile industry. The Wiesenfest is one of the oldest city festivals and takes place every year on the weekend of the second Saturday in July – a stable date over the years, which has become a must-attend event for families from Hof, Bayreuth, Marktredwitz, and the surrounding communities of the Hofer Land region.
