Monthly evening concerts in the historic mill
The Bergmühle Flensburg is a monument that has grown over centuries in the Sandberg district — and for several years, it has been home to one of Schleswig-Holstein's most unusual concert series: Mühlengenuss. Once a month, the mill opens its doors for an evening concert.
The program is deliberately designed to span across genres. Bands like Tears for Beers (Folk), The Greyhounds (Rockabilly), or The Shufflizers (Blues) have already graced the stage in the historic mill room. Concerts start at 8:00 PM and end around 10:30 PM. Free admission — a collection is taken at the door, voluntary donations for the musicians.
The Bergmühle is much more than just a concert venue. The choir «Neustadt Chor» rehearses weekly (Mon 6:30 PM–9:00 PM), the open «Kaffee, Kuchen & Klönschnack» brings Flensburgers together monthly for afternoon coffee, and every last Wednesday of the month, the Jazz Jam Session takes place (7:30 PM–10:30 PM) — open to musicians of all ages and instruments.
In the Mühlenflimmern format, the Bergmühle hosts film nights several times a year (7:00 PM–10:00 PM). Annual highlights include:
The Bergmühle is located in Flensburg's Sandberg district, a traditional residential and craft area south of the city center. With Mühlengenuss and its extensive supporting program, the mill has become an important cultural address in the city — accessible, volunteer-driven, with the charm of a venue where musicians play at eye level with the audience.
The Mühlengenuss series in 2026 follows the established format: one concert per month at the Bergmühle Sandberg, from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Bands from the region and beyond present a wide spectrum from Folk and Rockabilly to Blues and Soul.
Alongside Mühlengenuss, the weekly and monthly supporting program remains consistent — choir rehearsals, coffee afternoons, Jazz Jam Sessions, film nights. The annual highlights are also firmly scheduled.
