Open-air concert series from June to August in various districts of the municipality of Morbach on the mobile KIRNER stage
The Morbacher Musiksommer is an extraordinary format: instead of taking place in one fixed location, the festival moves through the various districts of the municipality of Morbach over several weeks. The mobile KIRNER stage is set up alternately in the villages, so that each location mobilizes its own local audience while also attracting travelling festival-goers.
The municipality of Morbach is very spread out with numerous districts. The Musiksommer uses this structure to bring cultural activities to a wider area: each participating district gets one or more concert evenings, during which local clubs, restaurateurs, and residents provide the atmosphere and accompanying program, while the artists are booked regionally.
The 2026 program includes the following locations:
From July 24 to 27, the Musiksommer is part of the St. Anna Kirmes Morbach. During these days, the KIRNER stage will be set up on the Morbach fairground, enriching the largest Kirmes in the Hunsrück with additional musical highlights.
Admission to all concerts is free. Visitors only pay for food and drinks on site. This concept allows for low-threshold access and makes the Musiksommer a cornerstone of cultural work in the municipality.
The 2026 edition continues the proven itinerant concept. For almost two months, the stage travels through the districts, bringing regionally booked artists to the rural areas of the Hunsrück.
The integration with the St. Anna Kirmes (July 24–27) is a highlight: during these days, the KIRNER stage will be set up on the Morbach fairground and will offer an extended concert program.
