Manga, Anime, Cosplay and Gaming at the Fontane-Haus Märkisches Viertel – May 16–17, 2026, Sat 10 AM–10 PM / Sun 10 AM–6 PM
The Mega Manga Convention Berlin – MMC for short – has been held annually for over 20 years, making it one of the oldest anime and manga conventions in Germany. It is organized by the non-profit association MMC-Berlin e.V., which stages the event each year from its own resources – with volunteer helpers, its own cosplay competition format, and a community of fans from Berlin, Brandenburg, and eastern Germany built up over years.
The venue is the Fontane-Haus cultural center at Königshorster Straße 6 (Märkisches Viertel, Reinickendorf district) – a large district cultural center with several hall areas, workshop rooms, and galleries, providing the convention with the infrastructure for a two-day event with multiple parallel program streams.
The program is structured in the classic way for a manga/anime convention: panels and workshops with renowned artists and authors from the German and international manga/comic scene; cosplay competitions with a stage and expert jury (the association's trademark); Artist Alley with independent artists selling their own works (prints, pins, sketchbooks, postcards); Merchant Area with professional dealers (manga, figures, plush toys, clothing); Gaming area with consoles, retro stations, and trading card game tables.
Unlike some other conventions, the MMC is explicitly family-friendly: drawing classes for children run throughout the weekend, a dedicated play corner with supervision allows families with younger children to attend, and the program includes specifically child-friendly workshops on manga drawing and cosplay crafting.
The 2026 edition follows the established two-day format. Panel rooms, the main hall for cosplay competitions, the Artist Alley with independent artists, the Merchant Area with professional dealers, the gaming area with consoles and trading card tables, as well as a family area with drawing classes and a play corner are spread across two floors of the Fontane-Haus. The full panel program and cosplay guests will be announced in spring 2026 on mmc-berlin.com.
