Mittelalterliches Spektakulum Ramstein-Miesenbach

The Mittelalterliches Spektakulum Ramstein-Miesenbach is a three-day medieval market festival in the heart of the West Palatinate twin town. From April 24th to 26th, 2026, the axis between Neuer Markt, the Museum im Westrich, and Prometheusplatz will transform into a vibrant scene of market stalls, camp life, music, and mock combat. The 2026 edition is already the third iteration of this young but rapidly popular format.

Market and Crafts

Stalls are spread across the festival grounds, showcasing, producing, and selling medieval craftsmanship: leather goods, forged knives and tools, jewelry made of bronze and silver, horns, felt products, cast candles, clay pipes, ointments, and herbs. Visitors can watch artisans at work and engage in conversation with them.

Music and Show

On the market stage, the medieval band Trollfaust (Saturday) and the Trio Cum Laute will perform. A spectacular fire show will provide a dramatic highlight in the evenings, while sword fighting demonstrations bring the martial side of the Middle Ages to life. Additionally, jugglers and music groups will offer walking acts across the grounds.

Culinary Delights and Camp Life

Medieval dishes are served at the market stalls: roasted suckling pig, pork knuckles, stick bread, almond honey, flame-grilled salmon, mead, beer from clay mugs, and spiced wines. Historical camp groups set up tents and campfires, offering insights into daily medieval life and contributing to the market's atmosphere.

The Spectaculum is free to enter, making it particularly attractive for families from Ramstein, Landstuhl, Bruchmühlbach-Miesau, and the entire West Palatinate region. The City of Ramstein-Miesenbach supports the format as a contribution to revitalizing the city center and promoting cultural diversity.
