Atmospheric medieval Christmas market with jugglers, mead, and crafts on Neu-Ulm's Rathausplatz
When Advent begins, Neu-Ulm's Rathausplatz transforms into a medieval encampment. Rustic wooden stalls, crackling fire pits, and merchants in period costumes bring bygone eras to life. The Medieval Christmas Market is one of the most atmospheric markets in the Ulm/Neu-Ulm region.
The travelling performers offer all sorts of shows – from juggling and singing to medieval crafts. A duo of jugglers entertains visitors, while choirs, clubs, and music groups round off the program. Culinary delights include honey mead, honey gingerbread, dragon sausage, and hearty grilled fare. For children, there are storytelling sessions, and one of the permanent attractions is the 'world's smallest Ferris wheel', operated by hand.
Unlike many Christmas markets, the Medieval Christmas Market Neu-Ulm runs for several weeks. The opening hours extend late into the evening, inviting visitors to linger after work. Fire pits provide a warming atmosphere.
Neu-Ulm is located in the district of Neu-Ulm in the Free State of Bavaria, directly on the Danube opposite its Baden-Württemberg sister city, Ulm. With its Medieval Christmas Market, the Bavarian-Swabian city combines regional tradition with historical flair – a popular destination for visitors from all over Swabia.
