Allgäu Autumn Tradition
Marktoberdorf, the district capital of Ostallgäu, upholds one of its most traditional annual markets with the Martinimarkt. It takes place from the second Saturday to Monday after Kirchweihmontag (St. Martin's Day fair Monday) and turns the town center into a lively festival mile.
Market and Entertainment
Around 120 stallholders offer a wide range of goods: jewelry, textiles, gifts, household items, cleaning devices, spices, and natural products. Every year, this is complemented by amusement rides and shooting galleries – from the fairy tale carousel for the little visitors to the bumper cars for the teenagers.
In the Heart of the City
The market extends around the town hall in Kemptener-, Jahn-, and Georg-Fischer-Straße, reaching the market square. As an autumn fair and Volksfest (people's festival), the Martinimarkt is a convivial meeting point for the entire region and a firm fixture in Marktoberdorf's event calendar.

In 2026, the Martinimarkt will again be held at the end of October; the date is traditionally the second Saturday to Monday after Kirchweihmontag. Around 120 stallholders offer jewelry, textiles, gifts, household goods, cleaning devices, spices, and natural products.
In addition, amusement rides and shooting galleries – from the fairy tale carousel to the bumper cars – provide entertainment. The market extends around the town hall in Kemptener-, Jahn-, and Georg-Fischer-Straße to the market square. The exact dates and times for 2026 will be announced by the City of Marktoberdorf.
