Final evening of the 34th International Fireworks Competition Hannover – Team Sweden and award ceremony in the Herrenhausen Gardens
Sweden completes the Nordic quartet of the 2026 season (along with Norway, Finland, and Scotland; the fifth team varies by edition). Swedish pyrotechnics have been known for decades for their unique visual ideas and elegant choreographies. Swedish teams have won the competition in Hannover multiple times in the past.
The final evening has a dual character: on one hand, it is the last competition show of the season; on the other, the scores of all five teams are aggregated afterwards, and the season winner is announced. The scoring is based on the evaluations of an international expert jury and an audience vote. The winner is ceremoniously crowned immediately after the show.
In mid-September, high summer is behind Hannover, and early autumn is on the horizon. The days are getting shorter, the sun sets earlier, and the evenings are cooler. This gives the final evening its own atmosphere: quieter and more reflective than the summer evenings before, with clearer air and a more serene backdrop.
The final evening also follows the established program line: admission in the late afternoon, a supporting program with a show stage, gastronomic stands, and walking acts, the staging of the nocturnal park lighting, and finally, the main show lasting around 25 minutes. This is followed by the award ceremony with brief statements from the participants.
Team Sweden brings Nordic pyro tradition with high technical precision to the final evening. Swedish teams have won the Hannover competition multiple times in the past and are among the distinguished names in the European pyromusical scene.
The award ceremony following the show is a distinct program item: representatives from all five teams are called to the stage, the jury announces its verdict, and the audience vote is tallied. The winner receives the competition trophy.
Identical pyrotechnic infrastructure, standardized time budget. Judged by an international expert jury and audience vote. Aggregation of all five evenings for the season ranking.
