The Market Breakfast with Live Music is a charming Neustadt weekly market series that expands the Palatinate weekly market experience with a culinary and musical dimension. On selected Saturdays between March and November, the Neustadt weekly market—combined with the historic town hall courtyard—transforms into a culinary breakfast island.
The event runs Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and combines regular weekly market operations with a special showcase for Palatinate wine culture. On each date, one of the eight Neustadt wine villages—Gimmeldingen, Mußbach, Haardt, Hambach, Diedesfeld, Königsbach, Lachen-Speyerdorf, Duttweiler, or Geinsheim—hosts in the town hall courtyard, presenting its wineries.
The idea is as simple as it is effective: The Palatinate wine producers don't have to compete for attention in individual promotional appearances—they come together in the city center to introduce themselves. Citizens and tourists can taste wines in a relaxed breakfast atmosphere, talk to the vintners, and get to know one Palatinate wine village after another.
Mayor Marc Weigel is present at every Market Breakfast—a deliberate gesture by the city to underline the importance of the Palatinate wine villages to Neustadt's identity. This personal presence of the head of the city gives the event an official yet familiar character.
