Four-day funfair with rides, barrel tapping, flea market, and live music by MV Edelweiß on the festival grounds at the Festhalle
For decades, the Maimarkt Wörth am Rhein has been the most important spring event in the calendar of the southern Palatinate Rhine town with its approximately 18,000 inhabitants. The Wörth municipal association and the town of Wörth am Rhein organize the market together with local clubs and showmen.
The market combines a classic funfair with a city festival character: rides and stalls from showmen meet club stalls from Wörth's clubs, which provide catering. A central stage provides musical accompaniment on all four days.
The Maimarkt opens on Friday with the traditional barrel tapping by the mayor or a representative of the municipal association. Saturday and Sunday are the main visitor days, with a classic family day (often on Sunday with reduced ride prices) and a flea market on Sunday morning around the festival grounds. On Monday, the market concludes with a relaxed closing.
Various acts alternate on stage: The Musikverein Edelweiß Wörth traditionally performs with brass music, supplemented by cover bands for evening events, and occasionally dance groups or school choirs.
Classic funfair rides such as bumper cars, Ferris wheel, swing boats, children's carousel, and throwing stalls form the showman program. Food stalls offer bratwurst, fries, crêpes, almonds, cotton candy, and the obligatory gingerbread heart.
The exact program for 2026 will be published in advance by the town of Wörth am Rhein. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years.
