In the Town Hall Courtyard of the Baroque City
The Ludwigsburg Wine Arbour is a highlight of the summer festival season in the Baroque city of Baden-Württemberg. The venue is the Town Hall Courtyard – the central square directly in front of Ludwigsburg Town Hall, nestled within Ludwigsburg's Baroque cityscape (founded in 1709 by Duke Eberhard Ludwig). For 17 days, the square transforms into an elegant open-air wine bar with a sophisticated dining offer.
17 Days of Wine Arbour – August 6th to 22nd, 2026
The 2026 Wine Arbour runs from Thursday, August 6th, to Saturday, August 22nd. It opens daily from 5:00 PM (i.e., in the evenings) – weekdays and weekends, with particularly busy Friday and Saturday evenings. On rainy days, the Town Hall Courtyard is partially covered; in case of extremely bad weather, the event may be cancelled at short notice.
Over 140 Wines at Around 10 Stalls
The wine selection is exceptional for a German city festival: Around ten exhibitors – predominantly award-winning regional wineries from Württemberg and the Württemberg Unterland, but also international stalls from Italy, France, and Austria – will offer about 140 different wines together. Trollinger, Lemberger, Riesling, Württemberg Riesling Spätlesen, Schillerwein, and Weinviertler Grüner Veltliner stand side by side.
Fine Cuisine from Top Chefs
The culinary accompaniment is different from usual wine festivals: Top chefs prepare fresh dishes – from fresh oysters to game dishes (roe deer, venison) to homemade onion cake, Swabian Maultaschen, char fillets, and vegetarian-vegan options. The menu changes several times during the 17 days.
Live Music Several Times a Week
Bands and solo artists play on several evenings per week – jazz trios, Swabian songwriters, classical string quartets, international folk acts. The musical program remains in the background – the Wine Arbour is primarily a format for conversation, not a concert. But the live atmosphere shapes the evenings.
