Whitsun in Lösnich
Lösnich is located in the heart of one of the most famous wine regions of the Middle Mosel, between Erden with its famous Prälat vineyard and Zeltingen-Rachtig with Sonnenuhr and Schlossberg. The Lösnich Wine Spring uses this extended Whitsun weekend to present the vintners and their wines in a coordinated courtyard festival.
Open Cellars, Courtyards, and Gardens
From Friday, May 22nd, to Whit Monday, May 25th, 2026, the Lösnich vintners will open their cellars, inner courtyards, and gardens. The chilled wines are a characteristic feature of the festival: Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Weißburgunder, Spätburgunder, and Sekt are served at the right temperature, underlining the spring atmosphere and the often warm weather around Whitsun.
Wine and Mosel Cuisine
The wines are accompanied by a wide menu of Mosel cuisine: Flammkuchen, Bratwurst, Schiefertaler ham, cheese platters, salads, and sweet specialties. Several courtyards offer complete meals in their gardens, with a focus on seasonal spring dishes – asparagus, strawberries, wild garlic.
A Mosel Whitsun Variant
In the dense Whitsun courtyard festival calendar of the Middle Mosel, the Lösnich Wine Spring is a charming alternative to the larger events. Those who want to combine several Mosel Whitsun festivals over an extended weekend can easily combine the Lösnich Wine Spring with stops in Zeltingen-Rachtig, Ürzig, or Erden.
Lösnich Wine Spring — edition 2026
The 2026 edition continues the proven concept of previous years. The participating Lösnich vintners coordinate their opening hours and joint marketing, but retain their individual atmosphere and food menu.
Whitsun is one of the most beautiful travel times on the Middle Mosel. Those who combine the Wine Spring with hikes on the Moselsteig trail will experience the vineyards in full bloom.
Programme Lösnich Wine Spring 2026
Schedule May 22nd – 25th, 2026
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of the Mosel courtyard festivals on Whitsun:
- Friday 05/22: Opening of the courtyards in the afternoon, first tastings, convivial start in the evening
- Saturday 05/23: Full festival operation in the courtyards, longer opening hours in the evening, possibly live music in individual courtyards
- Whit Sunday 05/24: Main tasting day, largest audience, family afternoon
- Whit Monday 05/25: Frühshoppen, quieter conclusion, festival ends in the afternoon/evening

Getting There
Lösnich is located on the B 53 between Bernkastel-Kues and Traben-Trarbach. By train, you can connect via Wittlich or Bullay with a bus connection to the village.
Admission
Free admission to the courtyards. Wine and food are paid for on site.
