24th edition on the second weekend of August — wine tasting, live music, and craft market in the historic village center
The Weinstraßenkirmes in Longuich is a classic Mosel wine festival: not a stage production, but stalls, squares, and courtyards through which the crowds meander — hence the name 'Weinstraßenkirmes' (Wine Route Festival). The Longuich vintners open their courtyards and serve their wines from specially erected stalls. Riesling is the focus, complemented by Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir, as well as sparkling wine specialties.
The second weekend of August has been the set date for over two decades. The 24th edition in 2026 (August 8–10) follows the established structure: Friday evening opening with a keg tapping ceremony, Saturday and Sunday as full festival days with live music, wine tastings, and a craft market. The historic village center, with its half-timbered houses, the baroque parish church, and its proximity to the Roman Villa Urbana, provides an atmospheric backdrop.
In addition to wine, a craft market characterizes the weekend: regional arts and crafts, ceramics, wood, and textile works find their audience. Local music associations, cover bands, and solo artists perform on several stages. The summer evenings become a relaxed meeting point under fairy lights — typical of the Mosel atmosphere in midsummer.
For those staying longer, the Weinstraßenkirmes can be combined with other Longuich events: The SummerWineParty at the Villa Urbana opens the August festivities a week earlier (August 2–3). The combination of the Roman villa, the Weinstraßenkirmes, and the Moselsteig hiking trail makes Longuich one of the liveliest places on the Mosel in midsummer.
The 24th anniversary edition is, as in previous years, supported by a volunteer festival committee in Longuich, which coordinates stalls, stages, the craft market, and security. The Weinstraßenkirmes is considered both a village and a vintner festival — supported by local clubs, the vintner association, and the local municipality.
In 2026, the date on the second weekend of August remains fixed. Program changes will be communicated via the municipality's event page.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in spring/summer. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
Band lineups, locations, and special offers from the wineries will be published by the Longuich municipality in good time.
