Trier's cultural institutions invite you to a joint night of art on December 5, 2026
The Long Night of Art Trier is a collaborative event featuring numerous cultural institutions in Trier, held annually in the first week of Advent. Initiated and supported by the European Art Academy Trier (EKA) and the Tuchfabrik (TuFa), along with other partners, it offers an accessible opportunity to visit several art institutions in a single evening.
The 2026 program includes openings at the Kunsthalle Trier, the European Art Academy, the TuFa galleries, and other venues. Visitors can stroll between locations, discover current works by contemporary and established artists in exhibitions, engage in conversations with artists, participate in interactive activities, and enjoy live music, performances, and culinary offerings (mulled wine, snacks) at various venues.
The event is free and aimed at a broad audience – from art connoisseurs to families looking for a special Advent evening. Located in Trier's city center, the venues are within walking distance of each other. The opening is at 6 PM, with the main program running from 7 PM to midnight.
In 2026, the Long Night of Art is integrated into the festival program celebrating the 40th anniversary of Trier's UNESCO World Heritage status. This places the city's contemporary visual arts within a larger cultural context, connecting its ancient heritage with its vibrant present-day culture.
The 2026 edition holds special significance due to its integration into the World Heritage anniversary. A denser program than in previous years is expected – the exact list of participating venues and artists will be published in autumn 2026.
The venues' proximity in Trier's Old Town, all within walking distance, facilitates strolling from one location to another.
The exact 2026 program will be published by the participating venues in autumn. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
