Three Days of Tradition in the Schlosspark
Lodersleben belongs to the town of Querfurt in Saalekreis and, with its baroque castle and extensive castle park, is one of the most charming villages in the region. The Heimatfest has been celebrated here annually since 1951 – in 2026, the 76th edition will take place from July 3rd to 5th. The festival is considered one of the most traditional Heimatfeste in southern Saxony-Anhalt and is supported by the local heritage association in cooperation with the shooting, sports, and carnival clubs.
Program Between Sport, Dance, and Tradition
The event kicks off with classic Heimatfest formats: a festival parade, stage program, dance evening with a regional band, and catering in the Schlosspark. Sporting highlights include the traditional volleyball tournament and – as a special feature – the run around the Lautersburg, a running event through the surrounding hilly terrain. In 2026, the run will be held for the 35th time. A choir meeting in the Schlosspark is also one of the long-established program points.
Lodersleben — Baroque Castle with Festival Meadow
The baroque Lodersleben Castle and its park (now publicly accessible) form the main stage of the Heimatfest. The park features an open-air stage and the community center. This setting makes the festival more than just a classic village festival – it gives it a historical depth that is particularly palpable during the festival week.
Saalekreis and Querfurt
Lodersleben is part of the Saalekreis district in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The town of Querfurt itself is famous for its over 1,000-year-old Querfurt Castle – one of the largest preserved castle complexes in Central Germany. Those who come to Lodersleben during the festival week can easily combine their festival visit with a tour of the castle and a walk through the hilly landscape of southern Saalekreis.
