Maritime Festival on the Achterwasser

Loddin is one of the four so-called Amber Spas on the island of Usedom — alongside Koserow, Ückeritz, and Zempin. While the Baltic Sea side with its beaches dominates tourism, a different Loddin has developed on the Achterwasser side: the old fishing village on Kölpinsee lake with its historic harbour. This is exactly where the Loddin Harbour Festival takes place.

Programme

The festival starts every day at 1:00 PM with a maritime stage programme. Live music, show acts, and entertainment alternate. In the evening, the festival grounds become a dance floor under the starry sky with a DJ disco. In addition to the stage, there is a bouncy castle, a fish crate slide, and a children's face-painting corner. A free ride in a fire engine delights the youngest guests in particular. With the UsedomCard, a shuttle service to Koserow and Ückeritz runs until midnight.

Family-Friendly

The Harbour Festival is consistently designed as a family festival — low entry barriers, free hands-on activities for children, seating areas by the water, and a calm atmosphere that differs from the often more hectic events in the larger Kaiserbäder resorts.

Local Context

Loddin belongs to the Usedom-Süd office in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district. The village is located between the Baltic Sea and the Achterwasser and is part of the Usedom Island Nature Park. The Harbour Festival is one of the most important summer events in the Amber Spas.
