The Litermont — Nalbach's local mountain

At 414 metres, the Litermont is one of the most prominent elevations in the Saarlouis district and also the local mountain of the municipality of Nalbach. With the Litermont-Alm on the summit and the observation tower, it offers a panoramic view far across the Saarland region — from the Hochwald in the north to the Saarschleifenland in the south. It's only natural that the municipality of Nalbach uses this location for a special open-air event once a year — the location is unique in western Saarland.

What Chill-Out Lounge means in Saarland

The Gipfel-Lounge is deliberately not a loud open-air festival. Instead, it focuses on a relaxed chill-out atmosphere: atmospheric lighting, lounge-style furniture (deckchairs, cushions, wooden benches), lounge DJs with ambient music, regional culinary offerings, and cocktail bars. Visitors will find an open-air evening here like on Ibiza — only in the middle of the Saarland summer forest.

Even though the municipality of Nalbach varies slightly each year, the following elements are part of the Gipfel-Lounge:

Timing — Last Saturday of the Saarland summer holidays

The event traditionally takes place on the last Saturday of the Saarland summer holidays — which means the date varies slightly each year. In recent years, the date has been in mid to late August. In 2025, the Gipfel-Lounge took place on August 16th. For 2026, the date will be announced by the municipality of Nalbach in the spring.

Nalbach in the Saarlouis district

Nalbach is located in the northern Saarlouis district, between Lebach and Saarlouis-Mitte. The municipality with almost 9,000 inhabitants is characterized by forests and hills — the Litermont is its tourist calling card. Those who visit the Gipfel-Lounge can also combine the day with a hike: several marked trails lead from Nalbach up to the Gipfel-Alm.
