Morsbach — Hohenlohe District of Künzelsau
The district of Morsbach belongs to the town of Künzelsau (approx. 15,700 inhabitants, Hohenlohe district). Like many other Hohenlohe settlements, Morsbach was historically independent — a village community that was incorporated into Künzelsau in 1971 as part of administrative reforms, but maintains its own club life, identity, and customs. The Lindenfest is one of them.
The Lindenfest — Name and Format
The name Lindenfest refers to the village linden tree as the central point of the village square — a tree that traditionally marks the center of village life in many southern German villages. Gatherings, judgments, and celebrations took place under the linden tree. Today, the linden tree primarily serves as a shade provider on the central village square — and gives its name to the annual summer festival. The organizer is the Morsbach Village Community, supported by local clubs and associations.
Three-Day Festival Weekend July 10–12, 2026
The Lindenfest 2026 runs from Friday, July 10th, to Sunday, July 12th, 2026. Three days of festival tent, catering, and music. The venue is the village square on Langen Gasse — the narrow village street that runs through Morsbach. In a festival tent format with seating areas, a catering stand, small market stalls, and an open stage. The atmosphere is familiar and cozy — many festival-goers have known each other for years and come every summer.
Program: Music, Food, Cozy Get-Together
The program of the Lindenfeste is typical for a Hohenlohe village festival:
- Friday evening: Festival opening, live music with a local band, younger audience, atmosphere with draft beer
- Saturday: All-day catering, live music in the afternoon and evening (often Hohenlohe or Tauberland bands), traditional festival tent program
- Sunday: Morning pint with brass music, family afternoon, festival winding down in the late evening
Culinary delights await guests with Hohenlohe specialties: Hohenloher Maultaschen, Tauberländer Bratwurst, Schaftaler, roast beef, homemade cakes on Sunday afternoon. Accompanied by Hohenlohe wines and draft beer.
Künzelsau and the Hohenlohe Region
Künzelsau (approx. 15,700 inhabitants, Hohenlohe district) is the capital of the Hohenlohe district in Baden-Württemberg, located on the Kocher river. The town is home to internationally active family businesses (Würth Group, Berner Group). The Hohenlohe region is a charming mix of baroque castle culture, viticulture along the Tauber and Kocher valleys, rolling hills, and forests. The districts of Künzelsau each maintain their own village festivals — the Lindenfest Morsbach is one of the newer and more popular ones.
