Winter fairytale in Beelitz City Park
The Lichterzauber im Stadtpark Beelitz is Brandenburg's answer to the growing wave of winter light festivals. The organizer is the established event company Pyro Passion. From December 18, 2026, to January 3, 2027, and in a second phase from January 7 to 10, 2027, the Stadtpark Beelitz in the asparagus city transforms into a breathtaking winter fairytale.
Light installations, star tunnel, and artificial snow
The concept relies on a combination of static light installations, choreographed light shows, and atmospheric special effects:
- Large-scale light installations along the main paths
- Star tunnel made of thousands of LED points to walk through
- Artificial snow effects with a snow cannon effect even in mild weather
- Colorful light sculptures on trees and bushes
- Winter decorations with pine cones, stars, carved wooden figures
- Unforgettable photo opportunities at every turn
Opening hours and admission
The festival is open daily from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with last admission at 9:00 PM. The park is closed on December 24 (Christmas Eve) and December 31 (New Year's Eve). Tickets will be sold from October 2026 via tickets.lichterzauber-beelitz.de.
Beelitz — the asparagus city with a light scene
Beelitz is a small town with around 12,000 inhabitants in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district, about 35 km south of Berlin and 25 km south of Potsdam. The town is primarily famous for its asparagus cultivation — Beelitz is the most important German asparagus region, and the annual Beelitz Asparagus Festival attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors in May/June. In winter, the Lichterzauber takes over the tourist significance of the Asparagus Festival.
Beelitz-Heilstätten as a sister event
Those who visit the Lichterzauber should also consider the nearby Beelitz-Heilstätten — one of the largest former sanatoriums in Germany, now a lost-place icon and open-air venue. In December 2026, the Christmas market in the Heilstätten (December 12–13, 2026) will take place there — a perfect weekend program for the Advent season.

The Lichterzauber im Stadtpark Beelitz 2026/27 takes place in two periods: from December 18, 2026, to January 3, 2027 (Advent block) and from January 7 to 10, 2027 (post-New Year). The park is closed only on Christmas Eve (Dec 24) and New Year's Eve (Dec 31, 2026).

Getting there
Train: RE7 from Berlin Hbf to Beelitz Stadt (approx. 40 min). About a 10-minute walk from the station to the city park.
Car: A9 (Berlin–Leipzig), exit Beelitz/Heilstätten. Parking at the city park — in case of high attendance, signposted park-and-ride options are available.

Tip
