Train: RE7 from Berlin Hbf to Beelitz Stadt (approx. 40 min). About a 10-minute walk from the station to the city park.

Car: A9 (Berlin–Leipzig), exit Beelitz/Heilstätten. Parking at the city park — in case of high attendance, signposted park-and-ride options are available.

The Lichterzauber im Stadtpark Beelitz is Brandenburg's answer to the growing wave of winter light festivals. The organizer is the established event company Pyro Passion. From December 18, 2026, to January 3, 2027, and in a second phase from January 7 to 10, 2027, the Stadtpark Beelitz in the asparagus city transforms into a breathtaking winter fairytale.

Beelitz — the asparagus city with a light scene

Beelitz is a small town with around 12,000 inhabitants in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district, about 35 km south of Berlin and 25 km south of Potsdam. The town is primarily famous for its asparagus cultivation — Beelitz is the most important German asparagus region, and the annual Beelitz Asparagus Festival attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors in May/June. In winter, the Lichterzauber takes over the tourist significance of the Asparagus Festival.

Beelitz-Heilstätten as a sister event

Those who visit the Lichterzauber should also consider the nearby Beelitz-Heilstätten — one of the largest former sanatoriums in Germany, now a lost-place icon and open-air venue. In December 2026, the Christmas market in the Heilstätten (December 12–13, 2026) will take place there — a perfect weekend program for the Advent season.
