Summer festival with LED illumination, live music, and fireworks over the Schmelzteich pond
The Lichterfest in Vitalpark Bad Sachsa uses the park's natural topography with the Schmelzteich pond as a central water feature for an extensive light staging. Thousands of LED lights, candles, string lights, path lights, and floating light elements create a dreamlike atmosphere that unfolds its full effect after sunset.
The group Two Voices and friends provides the musical backdrop with a program of acoustic cover classics, original compositions, and atmospheric songs that complement the light staging. The open-air stage is set up centrally in the Vitalpark, supplemented by subtle sound systems in other park areas.
The highlight of the evening is the grand fireworks display over the Schmelzteich pond. The water surface reflects the light effects, intensifying the impact. The fireworks are accompanied by music and are designed to last approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
The Lichterfest is a permanent fixture of Bad Sachsa's summer program and attracts visitors from the entire Südharz region and its neighboring areas. For the recognized climatic health resort, the event serves as both a tourist image booster and a community celebration for its citizens.
The 2026 edition continues the proven formula for success: atmospheric light staging, acoustic live music, and a grand fireworks finale. The light installation is prepared in the weeks before the event by volunteers and the town of Bad Sachsa.
