About Leverkusener Oldtimer-Tag

On Friday, June 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the Oldtimer Freunde Leverkusen (Leverkusen Oldtimer Friends) are organizing their 2nd Leverkusen Oldtimer Day in the Schlebusch pedestrian zone. Numerous historic vehicles will be available for free viewing — classics from the 1920s to the 1980s, collector's items, restored treasures, and everyday oldtimers. The Oldtimer Day takes place on the sidelines of the 608th Schlebusch Schützen- und Volksfest (Schützen and folk festival) and the 2nd Jecken Meile Leverkusen (Crazy Mile Leverkusen) — three parallel events that shape the Schlebusch festival weekend. Schlebusch is one of Leverkusen's liveliest districts with its own distinct business center. Free admission.

Schlebusch — Leverkusen's liveliest district

If you're looking for a district in Leverkusen with a strong sense of identity, you'll find it in Schlebusch. With a population of over 24,000, Schlebusch is one of Leverkusen's largest districts, located in the eastern part of the city between Cologne and the Bergisches Land region. Schlebusch was an independent town until 1930 and has preserved its identity-forming historical structure: its own business center with a pedestrian zone, its own market square tradition, its own club life, and a dense program of events — Schlebuscher Schützenfest, Schlebuscher Karneval, Schlebuscher Adventsmarkt (Christmas market), and since 2025, the Oldtimer Day.

2nd Edition 2026 — a Young Tradition

The 2026 Oldtimer Day is the 2nd edition — the event was first held in 2025 with great success. The Oldtimer Freunde Leverkusen, an volunteer initiative, demonstrated with the 2025 premiere that the format works: Oldtimer collectors from the greater Leverkusen area bring their historic vehicles to the Schlebusch pedestrian zone, and the public can stroll among the cars free of charge, admire the details at their leisure, and chat with the owners. This personal atmosphere distinguishes the Oldtimer Day from larger classic car shows where there is usually a distance between the cars and the public.

Friday, June 19, 2026 — 11 AM to 6 PM

The 2026 Oldtimer Day runs on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Seven hours of programming in the Schlebusch pedestrian zone. The choice of Friday is strategic: the weekend before (June 13–15), the Schlebusch Schützenfest reaches its climax, and Friday is the opening day for the extended Schlebusch festival weekend.

Three Parallel Events — Schlebusch Festival Weekend

The Oldtimer Day is part of three parallel Schlebusch events:

  • 608th Schlebuscher Schützen- und Volksfest — the traditional main festival of Schlebusch with a folk festival, festival tent, and Schützen parade
  • 2nd Jecken Meile Leverkusen — a summer carnival event with a fun open-air program
  • 2nd Leverkusen Oldtimer Day — the event described here

This concentration of events makes Schlebusch the festival center of Leverkusen in June. Visitors to the Oldtimer Day on Friday can then move on to the Schlebusch Schützenfest or experience the Jecke Meile.

Historic Vehicles — Classics and Collector's Items

The selection of vehicles is open — Oldtimer owners can register with the club (E-mail: [email protected]). Typical lineup at a Leverkusen Oldtimer Day:

  • 1920s–1930s: Pre-war classics like Mercedes 170, BMW 326, Opel Olympia
  • 1950s–1960s: Economic miracle classics — VW Beetle, Mercedes 190, BMW 1500, Opel Rekord
  • 1970s–1980s: Today's younger oldtimers — VW Golf 1, Audi 100, BMW 3 Series E21, Mercedes W123
  • Occasionally US cars (Mustang, Chevy), Italian sports cars (Fiat 124 Spider, Alfa Romeo Spider), English classics (MG, Triumph, Mini)

Schlebusch Pedestrian Zone as Venue

The venue is the Schlebusch pedestrian zone — the central shopping street of the district, which serves as a shopping mile throughout the year and a venue for events on festival days. The paving, the shop facades, the cafés, and bakeries provide an authentic urban backdrop for the oldtimers. Car enthusiasts and strollers wander among the vehicles, take photos, and chat with the owners. Cafés and restaurants in the pedestrian zone benefit from the increased foot traffic.

Oldtimer Scene in the Rhineland

The Rhineland is one of the most densely populated regions for oldtimers in Germany — shaped by its proximity to the Dutch and Belgian oldtimer scenes, numerous oldtimer clubs, and its history as an industrial region with car collectors. The Leverkusen Oldtimer Day fits into a dense network of oldtimer events in the Rhineland — larger events include Schloss Bensberg Classics, the Bonn Oldtimer Meeting, and the ADAC Oldtimer Festival at the Nürburgring.

Leverkusener Oldtimer-Tag — edition 2026

The 2nd Leverkusen Oldtimer Day takes place on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 11 AM to 6 PM in the Schlebusch pedestrian zone. Historic vehicles — classics from the 1920s to the 1980s — can be viewed free of charge. Organizer: Oldtimer Freunde Leverkusen. Takes place on the sidelines of the 608th Schlebusch Schützenfest and the 2nd Jecken Meile Leverkusen. Free admission.

2nd Leverkusen Oldtimer Day 2026

The second edition of the Leverkusen Oldtimer Day solidifies the still young tradition. Following the successful premiere in 2025, the Schlebusch pedestrian zone will again offer space for historic vehicles from the entire Rhineland region in 2026. Seven hours of programming with the opportunity to stroll leisurely among the cars, admire the details, and chat with the owners. Embedded within the Schlebusch festival weekend (Schützenfest, Jecke Meile), the event becomes a combined district festival experience.
