29th edition of Bonn's wine festival in the historic village centre of Lengsdorf — wines from Mosel and Rheinhessen, Wine Queen, live music
Lengsdorf is one of Bonn's oldest districts and is located in the Hardtberg borough, about 5 km west of Bonn's city centre. Until its incorporation in 1969, Lengsdorf was an independent municipality, and the historic village centre around the parish church of St. Petrus has retained its characteristic charm: half-timbered houses, narrow alleys, a small village square, and an intact village community with clubs, carnival, and a strong sense of local pride. When the village centre transforms into an open-air wine stage for the Lengsdorfer Weinfest, it's one of the most beautiful experiences in Bonn's event calendar.
The Lengsdorfer Weinfest focuses on direct sales — winemakers from the Mosel and Rheinhessen wine regions personally travel to sell their wines directly at their stands. You'll find classic Mosel Rieslings with the typical mineral note, fruity Rheinhessen Müller-Thurgau and Silvaner, Spätburgunder, Dornfelder, and rosé wines. Prices are moderate (open wine approx. €3.50 per Schoppen, bottled wine between €8 and €18). Those looking for genuine direct-from-producer wine away from supermarket shelves will find it here.
The programme is spread over three days:
A special feature: wine fountains flow at the main stands — a visual spectacle that makes the wine festival a visual experience. In addition, Bonn cover bands, brass ensembles, and dance groups provide musical accompaniment. The audience is a mix of Lengsdorf residents, people from Bad Godesberg and the city centre, University of Bonn students, and families from the Rhein-Sieg district. Free admission, wine sales at the stands.
Bonn hosts several wine festivals — besides Lengsdorf, there's Bad Godesberg (Govinum) or Brander. The Lengsdorf festival is one of the oldest and retains its special character thanks to the compact village setting and its voluntary organisation. Those looking for the typical Bonn wine festival with tourist crowds should go to Bad Godesberg. Those seeking a genuine district festival with wines directly from the producer and a sense of village community should go to Lengsdorf.
For the 29th time, the historic village centre of Bonn-Lengsdorf will be transformed into a wine market with selected wines from Mosel and Rheinhessen from September 18 to 20, 2026. The opening on Friday evening will be the ceremonial crowning of the Lengsdorf Wine Queen in front of St. Petrus parish church, followed by live music until late at night. Saturday is family day with a children's programme, grape pressing, dance groups, and cover bands. Sunday features a cosy Frühschoppen and festival finale. Free admission, wine at moderate prices directly from the winemaker.
