Traditional village fair on the village square in Bonn-Lengsdorf
Bonn-Lengsdorf, located on the southwestern outskirts of the federal capital Bonn and in the Hardtberg borough, is a district that has retained its village character to this day. With half-timbered courtyards, the historic St. Petrus parish church, the local history museum, and a lively club scene, Lengsdorf feels more like the Eifel foothills than a big city, despite its proximity to Bonn's city center. The annual summer fair is an expression of this distinct identity – and a firm fixture in the district's summer calendar.
The fair is organized by the Ortsfestausschuss Bonn-Lengsdorf (Local Festival Committee Bonn-Lengsdorf) in cooperation with the local organizer LuPe Events. The committee bundles the volunteer work of the Lengsdorf associations: KG Teddybären (Carnival), sports clubs, the parish, and the local history society. Without this network of local activists, the fair in its current form would not be possible – it is both a club festival and a showman's event.
The Kirmes Lengsdorf follows the classic pattern of a Rhenish village fair: rides and stalls from showmen (bumper cars, carousels, small high-altitude rides, shooting galleries, lottery stalls), snack stands with potato pancakes (Reibekuchen), bratwurst, almonds, and Kölsch beer on tap, a stage for live music and club performances on the weekend, and the traditional Sunday service that opens the festival Sunday. Admission is free; payment is made at the respective stall or ride.
In 2026, the fair will take place from July 31 to August 2 – at the end of July, thus outside the traditional Rhenish fair high season (which is more in spring and autumn). Bonn-Lengsdorf thus has its own date, giving it visibility compared to the nearby Bad Godesberg fair, the Beuel Easter fair, and the Duisdorf autumn fair. The federal capital Bonn supports the festival as part of its official event calendar in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Unlike the major Bonn fair events that target the entire city, Kirmes Lengsdorf is primarily a district festival. The majority of guests come from Lengsdorf itself, the surrounding districts of Duisdorf, Lessenich, and Endenich, as well as from the neighboring municipalities of Alfter and Wachtberg. It is precisely this proximity that creates the charm – people know each other, meet acquaintances, sit together on beer benches in the evening, and listen to what the club stage offers.
The Kirmes Lengsdorf 2026 will take place from Friday, July 31, to Sunday, August 2, on the village square and along Uhlgasse in Bonn-Lengsdorf. The organizer is the Local Festival Committee Bonn-Lengsdorf together with LuPe Events.
The exact program overview for 2026 will traditionally be published a few weeks before the date on the website lengsdorf.info and in local postings. Based on experience, it follows this pattern:
