City Festival in the Bergisches Land

In the southern Bergisches Land, between Solingen and Leverkusen, lies the small town of Leichlingen (Rhineland) — the "Blossom City", as it is officially known. Every year in September, the town celebrates its big Stadtfest (city festival), which takes place on several central squares in the city center: Brückerfeld and Postwiese are the two main areas.

September 18-20, 2026 — Three Days of Festival

The 2026 edition runs from Friday, September 18th to Sunday, September 20th, 2026. The program includes:

• Live music on several stages — cover bands, local acts, acoustic sets, DJ sets in the evening
• Colorful market with stalls offering art, handicrafts, fashion, and local products
• Attractions and rides — carousels, smaller funfair rides, game stations
• Culinary offerings — from classic bratwurst to burgers and bowls, as well as regional and international specialties
• Club mile featuring Leichlingen clubs and initiatives
• Children's program with interactive activities, carousels, and face painting

GrammoEvents — The New Organizer

Since 2025, the Leichlingen City Festival has been organized by GrammoEvents — an event organizer that has taken over and restructured the city festival in its current form. Applications for stalls and performances are handled via [email protected]. The event website leichlinger-stadtfest.de has announced the program and detailed information for the 2026 edition.

Brückerfeld and Postwiese — The Festival Grounds

Brückerfeld is Leichlingen's central festival area — a large square with good transport links, used for city festivals, markets, and funfair events. Postwiese is located in the city center area and is used as an additional space. Together, both areas offer enough room for stages, stalls, rides, and the public.

Leichlingen — The Blossom City

Leichlingen bears the nickname "Blossom City" — a reference to the pronounced fruit-growing tradition around the town, which is evident in spring during the large Blossom Market and in the rich apple and berry production. With around 28,000 inhabitants, Leichlingen is a typical medium-sized town in the Bergisches Land region, nestled between Wuppertal, Solingen, Leverkusen, and Cologne. The city festival, along with the Blossom Market, is the most important annual event in the city's calendar.
