Three-day carnival festival in Leichlingen's Stadtpark — Senior Carnival, Weiberfastnacht, After-Parade Party
The concept is hidden in the name: “Jeck hoch 3" — three carnival formats, three target groups, three moods, all united in Leichlingen's Stadtpark. The Rhenish carnival city of Leichlingen sets a modern event concept with Jeck³, celebrating the fifth season over three days — from seniors to women to young revellers after the big carnival parade.
The kick-off is aimed at seniors and older carnival-goers. During the day, there's a relaxed program with carnival classics, satirical speeches (Büttenreden), and traditional dance music. Sit back, sing along, laugh — a leisurely carnival without the hustle and bustle of the younger days. Seats will be provided, and the program lasts several hours.
The classic of Rhenish women's carnival: Weiberfastnacht (Women's Carnival Day). Women in costumes take over the Stadtpark, symbolically cut off men's ties (an old carnival tradition), and dance exuberantly to sing-along hits and carnival anthems. A loud, cheerful, costumed day that heralds the actual carnival. From midday until late in the evening.
After the traditional carnival parade (Zoch) through Leichlingen, the party continues directly in the Stadtpark. The After-Parade Party brings together carnival-goers of all generations: exuberant atmosphere, DJ sets with carnival classics and modern Cologne sound, costumed audience, beer, and Kölsch. The social highlight of the carnival week in Leichlingen.
Behind Jeck³ is S & B GmbH in partnership with local sponsors and carnival clubs (especially KKV — Karnevalsklub Leichlingen). The concept relies on professional carnival production — stages, sound, catering — complementing Leichlingen's traditional carnival with a contemporary festival format. The Stadtpark, with its central location between the Wupper river and the city centre, is ideal — easily accessible, with space for several thousand visitors.
The city of Leichlingen (Rhineland), also known as the “Blütenstadt" (City of Blossoms) due to its fruit trees blooming in spring, is located in the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis (North Rhine-Westphalia). With around 28,000 inhabitants, it is a typical medium-sized Bergisches city between Cologne and Wuppertal. Carnival — as in the entire Rhineland — is highly valued here; the traditional carnival parade on Carnival Saturday is a central event of the city's culture. Jeck³ transforms carnival into a multi-day festival experience.
Jeck³ spreads the fifth season over three days and three target groups. Senior Carnival kicks off the carnival week with a relaxed program and seating. Weiberfastnacht on Thursday brings exuberant women's carnival with costumes, dancing, and tie-cutting. The After-Parade Party on Saturday crowns the carnival week after the traditional carnival parade through Leichlingen — carnival classics, Cologne sound, and exuberant atmosphere in the Stadtpark.
