Main Franconian Summer Festival at the historic bakehouse with the "Die Eisinger" brass band
For centuries, bakehouses have played a central role in Main Franconian villages: they are community bread ovens, meeting places for families, and symbols of rural self-sufficiency. In Eisingen, a small wine village in the Würzburg district, the old bakehouse is regularly brought back to life – including with the Backhaus Dorffest.
The event is organized by the local "Die Eisinger" brass band, a dedicated group that has a packed performance schedule in 2026: from the spring festival in Gaubüttelbrunn (March 14) to May at St. Josef Stift (May 1 and 14), the Standkonzert Eisingen (May 17), the Markelsheim wine festival (May 30), the parade in Reichenberg (June 14), up to the Backhaus Dorffest on June 27, 2026. In July, the Sommerserenade Eisingen (July 11) follows, in August the Volksfest in Röttingen (August 31), and at the end of the year the Advent concert (December 20).
Like many Main Franconian village festivals, the Backhaus Dorffest thrives on a simple but very authentic program structure: opening in the late afternoon, brass music by "Die Eisinger", freshly baked specialties from the wood-fired oven (onion cake, tarte flambée, bread), accompanied by Franconian wines and beer. Parents, grandparents, and children meet around the festival grounds, while the younger generation handles serving and setup/takedown.
Eisingen is located in the Würzburg district, southwest of the Main metropolis, on the edge of the Bavarian wine region. With around 3000 inhabitants, it is a classic Franconian wine village, characterized by scenic idyll, club life, and cultivated traditional costume and music culture. In 2025, the local fire department celebrated its 150th anniversary – a testament to the depth of club life, into which the Backhaus Dorffest harmoniously fits.
The festival is small, driven by the commitment of volunteers, and all the more special for it. Anyone who wants to get to know Main Franconia beyond the famous wine towns like Volkach or Iphofen will find an authentic summer evening here – with brass band music, a wood-fired oven, and Franconian wine.
The 2026 edition of the Backhaus Dorffest Eisingen will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the bakehouse in the village center. The organizer is the "Die Eisinger" brass band, which has included the festival in its busy 2026 annual calendar.
On the program: brass music by "Die Eisinger", freshly baked specialties from the wood-fired oven, Franconian wines and beers, plus a relaxed festival evening for families and clubs from Eisingen and the surrounding area.
Detailed times will be communicated by the "Die Eisinger" brass band (die-eisinger.de).
