Bielefeld's first night flea market on Kesselbrink with light, design, and enjoyment
With Latüchte, Bielefeld Marketing GmbH is introducing a new format to the city center: a night flea market with a summer atmosphere. On the first Saturday of the summer holidays, Kesselbrink transforms into a relaxed market stage from 6 PM to midnight. The name "Latüchte" refers to light and lamps – strolling through a brightly lit marketplace at night has a special magic.
Latüchte is exclusively for private sellers, artisans, and DIY makers. They sell second-hand clothing, decorations, toys, handmade items, and crafts. New goods, commercial dealers, unwashed clothing, weapons, live animals, and counterfeits are prohibited. This clearly positions Latüchte as a community flea market with curatorial standards.
Food trucks offer international cuisine, and bars serve beer, wine, Aperol, and non-alcoholic drinks. The mix of market stroll, street food picnic, and summer evening ambiance is its charm.
Sellers are encouraged to decorate their stalls. The most beautiful stall wins a Bielefeld voucher – an incentive for special creativity in lighting installations, signage, and display.
Stall fee: €35 for a 3x2m stall. Optional €5 for parking, €10 for a table. Setup from 4:30 PM, ready for sale by 5:45 PM. Dismantling from midnight, cleared by 1 AM. Stall protection (tent, canopy) is not provided; own canopies are allowed. Free cancellation up to 14 days before the event; thereafter, the stall fee is forfeited.
Kesselbrink is Bielefeld's main event square in the heart of the city center, directly between the main train station and the Old Market. With its modern paving, a water feature, and a skate park, it can be used multifunctionally. Latüchte expands the square's event spectrum with a nocturnal summer format.
With over 330,000 inhabitants, Bielefeld is the largest city in Ostwestfalen. With its traditional weekly market, Christmas market, and new formats like Latüchte, the city is one of the most vibrant marketplace cities in North Rhine-Westphalia. Bielefeld Marketing GmbH actively drives this development as the city marketing company.
The 2026 premiere is designed as a nocturnal summer format. With approx. 80 stalls, the market offers a diverse selection from second-hand fashion to DIY crafts. Bielefeld Marketing GmbH plans the format exclusively as a community flea market without commercial dealers.
Registration for sellers was via the organizer's website. Free cancellation up to 14 days before the event.
Kesselbrink is a 5-minute walk from Bielefeld Central Station. Take light rail lines 1, 2, 3, 4 to the Kesselbrink stop. Parking is available in the Kesselbrink parking garage. Public transport is recommended – the square is car-free.
