Hamburg, City of DIE ZEIT
DIE ZEIT has been rooted in Hamburg since 1946 – the editorial office and publishing house are located in the Pressehaus am Speersort. Once a year, the editorial team leaves their desks and organizes the Lange Nacht der ZEIT: an evening where Hamburg residents can meet the voices whose texts they read every week.
Discussions, Readings, Encounters
The program consists of parallel formats: panel discussions with politicians, interviews with cultural creators, readings from current books by DIE ZEIT authors, and scientific discussions on current topics. The events take place in several venues in Hamburg; the exact program is published in advance on hamburg.de and zeit.de.
Hamburg Home-Game Feel
Unlike comparable festivals, there's no flying in here; instead, Hamburg meets itself: DIE ZEIT editors, Hamburg cultural creators, and voices from business and science from the Hanseatic city. In the Hamburg-Mitte district, Speersort, Rathaus, and the venues are usually within walking distance – the Lange Nacht is also a city walk.
