Over 30 venues in the city centre – 24th edition of the Night of Culture on June 13, 2026
When the Lange Nacht der Kultur begins on the evening of Saturday, June 13, 2026, the atmosphere in Kaiserslautern will noticeably change. Over 30 venues throughout the city centre will open their doors or transform squares and outdoor areas into stages. Galleries will showcase special exhibitions, theatre ensembles will perform in unusual spaces, bands will play in churches and foyers, DJs will spin records in the Stadtgalerie, and performance artists will animate public spaces. Since 2002, the Kulturnacht has been the city's largest event for organized encounters with the cultural richness of the Westpfalz region.
The focus is on classic cultural institutions such as the Fruchthalle as a concert hall, the Pfalzbibliothek, the Theodor-Zink-Museum (City Museum), the Wadgasserhof Museum, and the Kammgarn. In addition, spaces that rarely host cultural events will be used: the east facade of the town hall will become a stage with video projections, the skate park a performance location, churches like the Stiftskirche and Apostelkirche concert halls, and shop windows mini-galleries. The RPTU and HS Kaiserslautern universities are also participating.
The programme encompasses all artistic disciplines: jazz, classical, rock, pop, world music, singer-songwriters, theatre, improvisational theatre, readings, slam poetry, dance, performance, visual arts, photography, light art, film screenings, and hands-on activities for families. Hundreds of artists from the region and selected guest ensembles will perform. The detailed programme will be published in spring 2026.
A festival ticket grants access to all events of the night. The price is €16 regular and €12 reduced, which is a very affordable rate given the multitude of accessible programmes. SWK (Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern) will provide shuttle buses between the venues, featuring live musicians on board – the journey between two locations thus becomes a concert experience itself. Families are particularly catered for: child-friendly offerings from storytellers, children's concerts, and interactive activities complement the programme.
One night, one ticket, over 30 venues: the Kulturnacht showcases the full spectrum of cultural life in Kaiserslautern in a single evening on June 13, 2026. The exact programme will be published in spring 2026.
