Ten days of street art, theatre, and music on Lake Constance
Kulturufer is Friedrichshafen's summer culture festival—and at the same time one of the most important street art festivals in the Lake Constance region. From July 31 to August 9, 2026, around 200 artists will spread out over ten days along the Uferstraße promenade. The festival is organized by the Cultural Office of the City of Friedrichshafen and is certified as a Green Event Baden-Württemberg—a recognized seal for sustainable event organization.
The festival grounds extend over several hundred meters of the promenade and utilize various venues: The Großes Zelt (Large Tent) hosts larger stage productions—concerts with nationally renowned acts, dance performances, theatre plays. The Kleines Zelt (Small Tent) offers more intimate productions, readings, comedy, and acoustic sets. The Musikmuschel (Music Shell) serves as a pavilion for free open-air concerts. The Aktionswiese (Action Meadow) features walk-acts, stilt walkers, family programs, and interactive stations. Additionally, there are street art and graffiti zones, an Open-Air Cinema for film nights by the lake, and a Craft Market.
The program includes approximately 200 artists spread over ten days. The stylistic spectrum ranges from Indie Rock and World Music to contemporary circus (Cirque nouveau) and stilt theatre, to Poetry Slam, Comedy, and Acrobatics. International street artists from France, Spain, Italy, and Great Britain perform alongside German acts and local artists. Ticket prices range from free performances (especially the walk-acts and smaller stages) to €39 for headliner shows in the Large Tent.
An important program element is the Jugend-KULT-Ufer (Youth Culture Shore)—a festival within a festival for young people with its own stages, workshops, and interactive stations. Young bands from the Lake Constance region perform here, and skate demos and graffiti workshops take place. During the day, the entire festival is designed to be family-friendly, with special children's and family shows on the Action Meadow.
Friedrichshafen, with around 62,000 inhabitants, is the fourth-largest city on Lake Constance, located in the Bodenseekreis district of Baden-Württemberg. The city is primarily known for its Zeppelin tradition: Count Zeppelin built his first airships here around 1900, and Zeppelin sightseeing flights still depart from Friedrichshafen today. Kulturufer takes place in close proximity to the Zeppelin Museum and the harbor—visitors can combine their festival experience with a visit to the Zeppelin Museum, a Lake Constance boat trip, or an excursion to Lindau or Konstanz.
Kulturufer 2026 runs from Friday, July 31 to Sunday, August 9, 2026 — ten days of summer culture directly on Lake Constance. The promenade along Uferstraße in Friedrichshafen becomes a festival mile, enlivened by over 200 artists from Germany and Europe.
The festival is certified as a Green Event Baden-Württemberg — with a reusable deposit system, waste prevention, and vegetarian-vegan food offerings. Walk-acts and free performances are free of charge; ticketed concerts cost between €15 and €39. Detailed program and tickets at kulturufer.de/programm.
