Four days of tent festival in the Rothaargebirge — 34th edition with Cirkus Cirkör, Doro Pesch, No Angels and Fury in the Slaughterhouse
KulturPur has developed into one of Germany's most remarkable festivals since 1991. On the expansive Ginsberger Heide, a high plateau in the Rothaargebirge above Hilchenbach-Lützel, organizers erect a complete tent city of 3,500 m² every Pentecost weekend — featuring a Large Tent, a Small Tent, and an open-air stage. The 34th edition runs from May 21st to 25th, 2026 (Ascension Day weekend shifted to Pentecost).
In addition to the main concerts, KulturPur programs around 70 events throughout the weekend: street theatre, acrobatics, walk-acts, children's and family programs, workshops, and comedy. Much of this is free and included with the day ticket. More than 50,000 visitors gather over the five days.
The Ginsberger Heide is located at about 650 m altitude above Hilchenbach-Lützel in the southern Rothaargebirge. The open high plateau with forests and meadows offers an extraordinary setting for an open-air festival — and also makes the typical "KulturPur weather" (a mix of sun, wind, and rain showers) part of the festival's identity. The organizer is the Kreis Siegen-Wittgenstein district via its Kulturreferat Siwikultur cultural department.
Hilchenbach is located in the Kreis Siegen-Wittgenstein district in North Rhine-Westphalia, in the southern Sauer-/Siegerland region. The town is known for the Burgruine Ginsburg castle ruins, its half-timbered houses, and a vibrant club scene. Lützel is one of the higher-lying districts and the springboard to the festival grounds.
Pentecost 2026 in the tent city: KulturPur offers a mix of a major headliner program and free open-air formats. Circus, classical music, indie, folk, metal, pop, and rock over five days. Camping on-site is possible.
Plus approx. 70 free program items: street theatre, acrobatics, walk-acts, children's and family formats.
Large Tent €35–€75, Small Tent €29–€41. Tickets via proticket.de.
