Folding chair instead of rows of seats — six venues in and around Bühl

The concert series Kultur im Klappstuhl is the City of Bühl's summer open-air response to the closed concert halls of the winter season. The concept: Instead of numbered chairs, each guest brings their own folding chair, spreads out a blanket, unpacks their picnic, and enjoys the concert under the open sky. The City of Bühl (Rastatt district, AGS 08216) is located at the transition from the northern Black Forest to the Rhine Valley — and the six venues for the series are spread across the city's districts and the higher elevations around the core city.

Six concert evenings in 2026 — the 6th season

The 6th season of "Kultur im Klappstuhl" runs from June 25 to July 31, 2026. Every Thursday at 7:00 PM, a different band plays at a different location:

• June 25 — Audilia (Indie / Folk / Jazz) — Schlossberghalle Neusatz
• July 2 — Desirée Lobé & Band (Pop / Soul) — Trottenplatz Eisental
• July 9 — Ultimo (Cover Band) — Rheintalhalle Weitenung
• July 16 — Tom Alaska (Piano Recital, Udo Jürgens Tribute) — Max Grundig Klinik Bühlerhöhe
• July 23 — Hockridge Brothers (Acoustic Rock & Soul) — Moos (behind the church)
• July 31 — Dîner en Blanc with Acoustic Blend — Garden of Kloster Maria Hilf (sold out)

Dîner en Blanc as the festival finale

The grand finale on July 31 is the Dîner en Blanc in the garden of the baroque Kloster Maria Hilf — a "picnic in white," where all guests dress entirely in white, bring white tablecloths, and host a communal picnic accompanied by the band Acoustic Blend. The event is already sold out (as of the 2026 pre-sale opening) and is among the most sought-after summer highlights in the region.

Admission €8 — City of Bühl as organizer

The organizer is the Cultural Office of the City of Bühl (Susanne Sackmann, Tel. 07223 935-4640). Admission: €8 in advance — a deliberately low price point to make the concerts accessible to all generations and budgets. The concept has proven successful since its first season, and the series is now a firm fixture in the summer calendar of the central Black Forest.
