On the first Sunday in May, Kropp transforms into a colourful flea market mile outside every doorstep.
The Kropp Street Flea Market is not a classic flea market with traders from the region, but a neighbourhood flea market: Anyone living in one of the participating streets can register for free and offer their items directly outside their own home. External sellers are not allowed — this is what makes the event so charming.
The list of residential streets changes slightly from year to year. For 2026, the following streets are expected: Rehwinkel, Wieselweg, Fuchsgang, Dachsgang, Zobelweg, Hermelinweg, Igelgrund, Iltisweg, Rheider Weg, Bahnhofstraße, Am Bahnhof, Norderstraße. Visitors should be prepared for an extended walk — all streets are within the walkable town centre.
The event is not only a flea market but also a contribution to a culture of reuse: Toys, clothing, books, and household items change hands instead of ending up in the bin. At the same time, the Sunday in May is an occasion for many Kropp residents to chat with their neighbours — benches, coffee pots, and small snack stands line the sales points.
Kropp is a municipal community with around 6,500 inhabitants in the district of Schleswig-Flensburg in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, located about halfway between Rendsburg and Schleswig. The municipality's regional marketing department has been organizing the street flea market for years as one of the spring highlights in the local calendar.
The 2026 edition is confirmed on the official municipal website. As every year, the date falls on the first Sunday in May — a date firmly established in Kropp's spring event calendar.
Residents can register with the Regional Marketing Department by April 20th. Some residents spontaneously organize their own food and drink offerings outside their doors.
Seller registration (residents of participating streets only) by April 20, 2026 with Maike Hinrichsen: 04624 72-70 or [email protected].
Kropp is located on the A7 motorway (Schuby/Kropp exit). Train travellers can reach Kropp via the Kiel–Husum line (Owschlag station, then bus). The town centre is compact and easy to explore on foot.

Free for visitors. The best time for browsing is the morning — many residents set up their stalls around 9 a.m. and finish selling in the early afternoon.
