One of Germany's largest open-air city festivals
The Kreuzberg Festival 2026 is the 32nd edition of a Berlin summer tradition that started in the early 1990s as Bergmannstraßenfest. In 2018, the festival moved to Kreuzbergstraße below Viktoriapark — a wide, sloping street that becomes a festival mile for three days. Three stages will be set up: at the Mehringdamm corner, in Katzbachstraße, and as the ViktoriaBühne in Großbeerenstraße. Free admission.
Over the three festival days, about 100 bands and solo artists from Berlin and internationally will perform. The musical spectrum is deliberately broad: Jazz and Blues, World Music from Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East, Soul, Reggae, and Salsa, plus Hip-Hop, Rock, and electronic dance music. In 2026, the third stage will focus on Berlin's electronic and club music scene. The festival is one of the few large-scale events not organized by commercial concert agencies, but by an association of residents and stakeholders.
Around 100 market stalls line the festival mile with arts and crafts, fashion, design, jewelry, and vintage items. 50 food stalls offer culinary specialties from around the world — from Turkish cuisine and Southeast Asian street food to classic German festival sausages. Anyone who wants to experience Berlin in the summer with everything that makes Kreuzberg unique cannot miss the festival. District Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Ortsteil Kreuzberg, easily accessible by U6/U7 (Mehringdamm), U7 (Gneisenaustraße), or U6 (Platz der Luftbrücke).
