50 Years of Opferbaumer Musikanten

In 2026, the Opferbaumer Musikanten 1976 e.V. will celebrate their 50th anniversary. For this occasion, the traditional village festival has been elevated to the status of a Kreismusikfest of the Würzburg district association within the Nordbayerischer Musikbund (NBMB).

Festival Location Opferbaum

Opferbaum is a district of the municipality of Bergtheim, north of Würzburg, in the Würzburg district of the Lower Franconia administrative region in Bavaria. The venue for the festival is the Pfarrgarten Opferbaum with a festival tent – the traditional stage of the Opferbaumer Musikanten.

Four-Day Festival Program

From May 13th to 16th, 2026, festival evenings, morning pint concerts (Frühschoppen), and youth concerts will follow one another. Participating bands include the Wern-Blasn, the Jugendkapelle Bergtheim (Youth Band Bergtheim), the Musikkapelle Rißtissen from Swabia (partner band), the neighboring bands from Essleben and Rieden, and the Eschenbachtaler. The highlight will be the grand parade with a star march through Opferbaum on Saturday evening.

Franconian Brass Music Tradition

Kreismusikfeste are an integral part of brass music culture in Bavaria: music bands from the entire district meet for competitions, marching music performances, and joint parades. The festival in Opferbaum promises a special blend of Franconian and – through the partner band from Rißtissen – Swabian brass music culture.

Traditional Family Festival

In addition to the musical program, there will be lunches with Franconian cuisine, coffee and cake, a bouncy castle, and activities for children – a classic village festival with supra-regional appeal.
