Traditional town festival on the market square and in the city park — supported by Kornwestheim's clubs
For over five decades, the Kornwestheimer Tage has been considered the social highlight of the city of Kornwestheim in the Ludwigsburg district. The supporting association is the Stadtausschuss für Sport und Kultur Kornwestheim e.V., which brings together around 50 clubs in the city — from sports and cultural to social clubs. The town festival is a typical example of Swabian club life: each club runs its own stall, with the proceeds going into the club's treasury to finance its annual program.
The 53rd Kornwestheimer Tage will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 13 and 14, 2026 — and the 54th edition is already scheduled for June 5 and 6, 2027. This long-term scheduling demonstrates the festival's strong roots in the city's calendar. The venues are the market square and the adjacent city park, a 2.4-hectare park with old trees located between the market square and Kornwestheim main station.
Around 50 stalls from Kornwestheim's clubs are spread across the market square and city park: Swabian specialties (Maultaschen, Spätzle, Linsen-Eintopf, Saitenwurst) from the Schwäbischer Albverein and the Landfrauen, Bratwurst and fries from TSV Kornwestheim, Italian specialties from the Italian Club, crêpes and waffles from the Frauenkreis, beer and cocktails from the sports club. The catering stalls are run by club members on a voluntary basis.
Several stages — on the market square, in the city park, and in front of the Lange-Halle — feature cover bands and party bands, dance groups from Kornwestheim's dance schools, children's choirs, and school bands from the Theodor-Heuss-Realschule and the Ernst-Sigle-Gymnasium. The city park offers a dedicated family program: a children's carousel, bouncy castle, face painting, and craft activities organized by Kornwestheim's kindergartens and the CVJM youth group. There are also hands-on activities on the sports fields.
Kornwestheim, with around 33,000 inhabitants, is located in the Ludwigsburg district in the so-called Middle Neckar region — nestled between Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen and Ludwigsburg city center. Historically, the town was shaped by the Salamander leather factory; today, mechanical engineering and IT services dominate the economy. Alongside the music night in April, the Kornwestheimer Tage is the largest festival in the city's calendar, bringing together club members, families from the neighborhood, and commuters from the commuter belt around Stuttgart.
The 53rd edition of the traditional town festival once again attracts thousands of visitors to Kornwestheim's market square and city park. The clubs operate their stalls themselves — the proceeds go into the club treasuries and finance the annual program.
Several stages with cover bands, dance groups from Kornwestheim's dance schools, school bands from the Theodor-Heuss-Realschule and Ernst-Sigle-Gymnasium, as well as a family program in the city park make the festival family-friendly.
