Festive Königsball of the 1848 Schneverdingen Marksmen's Association to conclude the marksmen's season
The 1848 Schneverdingen Marksmen's Association (Schützenverein von 1848 Schneverdingen e.V.) is one of the oldest associations in the town of Schneverdingen in the Heidekreis district. With almost 180 years of club history, it is deeply rooted in community life. The club grounds with shooting ranges are located within the town, and social events are held in the festival hall or the club house.
The Königsball at the beginning of November traditionally marks the social end of the year. After the Heather Blossom Festival (Heideblütenfest), Marksmen's Festival (Schützenfest), and Harvest Festival (Erntedankfest), the ball offers an opportunity to conclude the club year in a festive setting. Members and families meet in elegant attire, the hall is festively decorated, and a multi-course formal dinner kicks off the evening.
The multi-course formal dinner typically includes an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert with a regional touch. Afterward, a live dance band takes over the program. The repertoire ranges from classic ballroom dances to contemporary hits.
During the Königsball, deserving members are honored: Jubilarians celebrating 25, 40, or 50 years of membership receive awards, new board members are introduced, and the reigning Marksmen King is specially recognized. These ceremonies are a central element of the club's culture.
Schneverdingen is a heathland town in the northwestern Heidekreis district. Social life is characterized by marksmen's traditions, with several associations in the various districts. The town's Königsball marks the end of the social season and the transition into Advent.
The festival hall will be stylishly decorated, and the program will follow a traditional sequence. The Königsball is one of the most important social events of the Schneverdingen club year.
