Village Festival with Lake View

The Summer Festival in Kummerow is one of the most important village festivals in the region around Kummerow Lake, one of the largest lakes in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is organized by the municipality of Kummerow together with the Kummerow Cultural Association and local clubs.

Program

Over three days, the program is spread across the festival grounds and the lake shore. It kicks off with live music, dancing, and food stalls. The main evening concludes with fireworks over the lake. During the day, there are daytime programs for families, games for children, and a football tournament. The sporting highlight is the lake swim, where swimmers from the community and surrounding areas cross Kummerow Lake.

25th Anniversary

In 2026, the Kummerow Cultural Association will celebrate its 25th anniversary, which will bring additional attention to the Summer Festival.

Kummerow is located in the Mecklenburg Lake District on the west bank of Kummerow Lake, which is part of Mecklenburg Switzerland. The village belongs to the Amt Malchin am Kummerower See. The region is known for its water landscapes, the historic Kummerow Castle, and a dense network of village and light festivals in the summer.
