A Young Festival Tradition in the Kochertal
The Kochertaler Weinsommer is a comparatively young event, held alternately in the three municipalities of the Mittleres Kochertal municipal association — Weißbach, Forchtenberg, and Niedernhall — since 2024. 2026 marks the third edition, and Weißbach is once again the host. The venue is the festival grounds at the Bürgerzentrum Langenbachtal, a spacious meadow on the outskirts with a view of the Kochertal.
Regional Vintners at the Center
The Kochertal is part of the northern foothills of the Württemberg wine region. Trollinger, Lemberger, Schwarzriesling, and Riesling thrive on the steep slopes around Forchtenberg, Weißbach, and Niedernhall. The Weinsommer brings together the region's wineries and cooperatives in one place — a perfect opportunity for a tour d'horizon of the Kochertal's grape varieties and styles without having to constantly shuttle between the wine villages.
Live Music and Hohenlohe Cuisine
Each evening features its own musical profile: from the classic sound of a brass band on the opening night to a live band and DJ later in the evening. Local clubs and associations serve Hohenlohe specialties — Maultaschen, grilled sausages, Flammkuchen, and regional cheeses. The atmosphere remains familiar and relaxed, far from mass tourism.
Weißbach and the Kochertal
Weißbach is a municipality with about 2,000 inhabitants in the Hohenlohe district and belongs to the state of Baden-Württemberg. Its location between the Kocher and Jagst rivers, nestled in a gently rolling wine landscape, makes the valley one of Württemberg's most charming corners. You can reach Weißbach from Heilbronn or Schwäbisch Hall via the Hohenlohebahn railway, and a bike ride along the Kochertalradweg (Kocher Valley Cycle Path) is also worthwhile.
