The Koblenz Wine Festival in the Lay district is one of the coziest Mosel wine festivals in the region. For three days, the Weingass in Koblenz's Lay district transforms into a small festival ground with wine stands from local vintners, stage music, a children's program, and gastronomic specialties. The organizers are the Heimatfreunde Lay e.V., who have been organizing the festival as a central event of the district for decades. Embedded in the festival calendar of the city of Koblenz and the Mosel wine region, the festival is a meeting point for wine lovers from Koblenz, the Hunsrück, and the Westerwald every year at the end of September.

Wine Festival Koblenz-Lay — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of the Koblenz Wine Festival in Lay will take place from Friday, September 25th, to Sunday, September 27th, 2026, in the Weingass and Hirtenstraße. Opening on Friday at 5 PM with the opening of the wine stands and the official ceremony at 7 PM. Saturday and Sunday are dedicated to Mosel wines, live music, and family offerings.

The 2026 edition follows the proven program of the Heimatfreunde Lay e.V. A detailed music program will be published in late summer.

The Koblenz Wine Festival in the Lay District is a typical Mosel wine festival in its most beautiful form. Lay is one of the southern districts of Koblenz, located on the Mosel between the districts of Güls and Moselweiß and surrounded by vineyards.

Location

The Weingass and Hirtenstraße form the heart of the festival. Wine stands, small stages, and snack stands line the streets. In the background, the Mosel vineyards shape the scenery. Lay can be reached by bus from Koblenz main station or by car via the B 416.

Concept and Atmosphere

The wine festival is a classic village wine festival with a family character. Local Mosel wines are served at the wine stands – Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Spätburgunder, and sparkling wine. The atmosphere is cozy and hospitable; the Heimatfreunde Lay e.V. welcome guests personally.

Program

A varied program spans three days: Opening on Friday evening with wine service and official ceremony, family and children's program on Saturday afternoon, stage music with regional acts in the evening, and on Sunday a grand festival day with Frühschoppen (morning pint), live music, and winding down.
