About Dorffest Ainring

The Ainringer Dorffest is the annual summer festival of the Ainring village community in the Berchtesgadener Land. Local associations gather on the village square in the center of the town, the Ainring music band plays in the evening, youth groups provide a colorful stage program in the afternoon, and there is a children's fun run. In addition, there are Franconian and Bavarian delicacies, coffee and cake, beer, and snacks — a classic Bavarian village festival in one of the most beautiful pre-Alpine landscapes.

Dorffest Ainring — edition 2026

The Ainringer Dorffest 2026 will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Ainring village square. From 3 PM, the youth groups of the local associations will perform on stage, and from 6 PM, the Musikkapelle Ainring will play for entertainment. The festival will be accompanied by Bavarian delicacies, coffee and cake, beer, and snacks. The organizer is the Dorfgemeinschaft Ainring — all local associations together. Free admission.

The 2026 edition of the Ainringer Dorffest will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the village square in the center of the town. The Dorfgemeinschaft Ainring — an association of all local clubs — invites you to a classic Bavarian village festival with music, dance, and culinary specialties.

The stands will open in the afternoon, and the stage program with the youth groups of the associations will begin at 3 PM. In the evening, the Musikkapelle Ainring will perform traditional Bavarian brass music. The children's fun run usually takes place in the context of the festival — the date and route will be communicated via the community website and the associations.

Getting There

Ainring is located between Bad Reichenhall and Freilassing on the B304, directly on the Austrian border. By car via the A8 (Munich–Salzburg, exit Bad Reichenhall/Piding) and then via the B20. By train: Hammerau station (Freilassing–Berchtesgaden line); from Freilassing station by bus or taxi to Ainring.

Free admission. Food and drinks are paid for at the association stands.

On Site

Seating under the festival tent and umbrellas, children's play area, toilets. In case of bad weather, the festival usually still takes place — most areas are covered.

Summer Festival in the Berchtesgadener Land

The Ainringer Dorffest is held every year by the Ainring village community. It is the joint summer festival of the local associations — from the music club, the fire department, and the traditional costume association to the sports club. The venue is the village square in the center of the town on Salzburger Straße, one of the most beautiful spots in the Rupertiwinkel.

Program Schedule

The day begins with the setup and decoration by the associations. The festival officially opens in the late afternoon. First, the youth groups of the associations perform on stage — from the traditional costume youth to the young brass band. In the evening, the Musikkapelle Ainring takes over and plays traditional Bavarian brass music. Food and drinks are served continuously, including beer, snacks, grilled fish, grilled specialties, as well as coffee and cake.

Children's Fun Run

A fixed part of the festival is the Kinderdorflauf (children's fun run). Children from the village and surrounding areas run through the village over several age-related routes — start and finish at the village square, award ceremony afterward at the Ski Club house. The event is supported by the local sports associations.
