Summer festival of associations in the Berchtesgadener Land — music band, children's fun run, and local delicacies on the village square
The Ainringer Dorffest is held every year by the Ainring village community. It is the joint summer festival of the local associations — from the music club, the fire department, and the traditional costume association to the sports club. The venue is the village square in the center of the town on Salzburger Straße, one of the most beautiful spots in the Rupertiwinkel.
The day begins with the setup and decoration by the associations. The festival officially opens in the late afternoon. First, the youth groups of the associations perform on stage — from the traditional costume youth to the young brass band. In the evening, the Musikkapelle Ainring takes over and plays traditional Bavarian brass music. Food and drinks are served continuously, including beer, snacks, grilled fish, grilled specialties, as well as coffee and cake.
A fixed part of the festival is the Kinderdorflauf (children's fun run). Children from the village and surrounding areas run through the village over several age-related routes — start and finish at the village square, award ceremony afterward at the Ski Club house. The event is supported by the local sports associations.
Ainring is located in the district of Berchtesgadener Land (Bavaria), directly on the border with Austria and only a few kilometers from Salzburg. The municipality officially calls itself a Fairtrade-Gemeinde (Fairtrade community) and is known for its open-air stage, recreational area, and proximity to Watzmann, Untersberg, and Salzach. The village festival is an expression of a vibrant club life that shapes the identity of the place.
The organizer is the Dorfgemeinschaft Ainring — an association of all local clubs. It is an authentic village festival with free admission, moderate prices, family-friendly, and attractive for visitors from Salzburg, Freilassing, and the entire Rupertiwinkel.
The 2026 edition of the Ainringer Dorffest will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the village square in the center of the town. The Dorfgemeinschaft Ainring — an association of all local clubs — invites you to a classic Bavarian village festival with music, dance, and culinary specialties.
The stands will open in the afternoon, and the stage program with the youth groups of the associations will begin at 3 PM. In the evening, the Musikkapelle Ainring will perform traditional Bavarian brass music. The children's fun run usually takes place in the context of the festival — the date and route will be communicated via the community website and the associations.
The children's fun run is traditionally organized by the local sports associations. Start and finish at the village square, several age-related routes, award ceremony at the Ski Club house. Registration usually on-site.
Note: The full program and the exact stage schedule will be communicated shortly before the festival via ainring.de and the festival's Facebook page.
