Knights' Festival & Ascension Day at Schlossgut Altlandsberg

Medieval Times in Märkisch-Oderland

When Schlossgut Altlandsberg opens its gates on Ascension Day, the grand Knights' Festival & Ascension Day begins. For four days, the organizer Carnica Spectaculi transforms the estate east of Berlin – just about 20 kilometers as the crow flies from the Berlin city limits – into a medieval market with everything that belongs to an authentic staging: knight tournaments, jugglers, fire shows, historical crafts, and medieval tavern cuisine.

Knight Fights and Competitions

The centerpiece of the festival is the knight fights with Midgards Feuerbund. The combat group re-enacts historical knight tournaments and stages show fights with swords, axes, and lances. In a special competition area, you can try your hand at axe throwing or archery – the outfitters will give you a brief introduction.

Market and Crafts

A historical market with over 50 stalls stretches across the grounds: blacksmiths demonstrate their work at the forge, potters, leatherworkers, and basket weavers showcase their crafts. At the taverns, you can enjoy mead, wine, and hearty dishes like wild boar on a spit, bread from a clay oven, or pea soup.

Märkisch-Oderland Region

Altlandsberg is a small town on the eastern edge of the Berlin commuter belt in the Märkisch-Oderland district of Brandenburg. The baroque manor with its castle church, brewery, and park is an attractive destination even outside of the Knights' Festival.
