Net Boats on the Bodden
The Kleine Fischländer Wettfahrt is a traditional boat regatta in the Baltic Sea resort of Wustrow. The focus is on the Netzboote (net boats) – wooden sailing boats that once served as workboats for laying nets and traps. The regatta takes place annually on the last Saturday in July and is considered the largest regatta of its kind in Northern Germany.
Harbour Festival at Fischländer Hafen
The regatta is accompanied by a lively Hafenfest (harbour festival). From the morning onwards, a diverse flea market with craft stalls opens, there is information about the historic wooden boats, and the Wustrow lifeboat station opens its lifeboat to the public. A full-day stage programme entertains visitors of all ages.
Awards Ceremony and Evening Concert
In the afternoon, the net boats return to the harbour, the public awards ceremony takes place in the festival tent in the early evening. When twilight falls, the harbour glows in colourful lights, and a live concert concludes the festival day. Admission is free all day.
