Klassik Sommerfestival Kloster Ettal and International Summer Academy

In 2026, the Klassik Sommerfestival runs from August 17 to 28, and the International Summer Academy from August 16 to 29 – a special year, as the Summer Academy celebrates its 10th anniversary. Around 90 music students from German-speaking countries and from around the world participate in the masterclasses.

Over the two festival weeks, free concert evenings by academy students alternate with concerts by professional guest musicians; performances are held in the Rosner Aula of Kloster Ettal. The highlight is the "Lange Nacht der Musik" (Long Night of Music), where the audience wanders through four concert venues in monastery rooms not usually accessible. The detailed program will be announced in spring 2026.

Getting There

Ettal is located in the Ammergau Alps, accessible via the B 23 from Oberau/Garmisch-Partenkirchen towards Oberammergau and by regional bus. The venue is the Rosner Aula in Kloster Ettal.
